Pastor Drew began his ministry at First CRC on October 1, 2016.  He previously served the Spring Lake CRC for 9 years after a 4-year internship at Immanuel CRC in Hudsonville, MI.  After 5 years as a lab chemist and 8 years working as a retirement plan administrator and consultant, Pastor Drew felt a call to full-time ministry.  He graduated from Western Theological Seminary in 2006, completed the Ecclesiastical Program for Ministerial Candidacy at Calvin Theological Seminary, and was ordained in the CRCNA in 2007.  Pastor Drew has a passion for preaching the gospel and for reaching people for Christ.  His other passions include the New York Mets, coaching high school softball, and gardening.  Pastor Drew is married to Becki, and they have five children, a daughter-in-law and two grandsons.

Becki started working at First CRC in August 2017.  A graduate of Trinity Christian College with a degree in elementary education, Becki has 12 years of experience as a library assistant in Hudsonville and Fremont.  Becki has enjoyed getting to know “how things work” at First CRC and has been busy updating our publications and keeping things running smoothly at the church.  Becki’s hours vary each week; her schedule is posted each week in the bulletin.  She is married to Pastor Drew and enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her five children and grandson.

Jonathan-Sturrus

Jonathan Sturrus, Outreach Coordinator

Jonathan started as our Outreach Director in April, 2023. After graduating with a degree in theology from Trinity Christian College, Jonathan earned his Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) from Calvin Theological Seminary. In his role, Jonathan is responsible for all of our outreach activities and will challenge us to expand our outreach in our community. Jonathan is part of our worship leadership team and preaches occasionally. Jonathan hopes to be a candidate for pastoral ministry in the CRCNA next spring. In his spare time, Jonathan loves connecting with his friends and spending time with family at the family cottage.

Peter Klanderud, Facilities Manager

Peter is the newest member of the First Fremont staff, serving as our Facilities Manager. In his role, Peter is responsible for snow removal, Sunday custodial work, light maintenance, and setup and takedown for funerals, weddings, and rentals. Peter is a full-time caregiver and also does projects for his condominium association.
